One of those necessary evils, like filing in your yearly tax forms, it hurts in the moment but you know it will relieve stress and problems further down the road. In golf course terms, the half million holes it creates allows water and air to penetrate the sun-baked surface and keep the roots healthy during the most stressful time of the year.
I’m sure you are all well aware that our club doesn’t have the best of irrigation systems (yet) so it is vitally important that what water does get there is used efficiently.
