This event marks the first official competition under the new captain of the club, Peter Domeij. In traditional golfing fashion, participants of the day placed bets on where his first drive would finish. After a (warm up) shot out of bounds, he cracked a great 5 hybrid level with the green to the left which gave Barry Whiteley the honor of guessing closest – just 11 steps away.
After the nine hole competition a lunch and presentation was held in the clubhouse. Peter reiterated his goal of the year was for people to have fun. “The social side is just as or even more important than the quality of our golf, we want everyone to feel welcome and have fun.” A philosophy the club totally agrees with.
Peter showed that having fun and good quality golf is also possible, recording only 30 strokes on the day and winning the 1st prize.
